On behalf of our generous sponsors and staff, I am delighted to welcome you to Riverkeeper’s New York Water Fest 2007 on Sunday, October 14, 2007—which promises to be even more fun, entertaining, and exciting than last year’s inaugural event.
What’s new this year is the first Annual Riverkeeper Cup Corporate Kayak Challenge—a 6-mile race starting from Pier 96 and ending at the North Cove Marina. Click here to find details and registration forms. Former NY Ranger goalie Mike Richter will be presenting the Riverkeeper Cup to the fastest corporate team.
The day’s events will also include the highly competitive Mayor’s Cup New York City Kayak Championship sponsored by our partner, the New York City Sports Commission. Amateurs and families with children can enjoy the popular Big Apple Splash Hudson River Float.
I urge you and your friends to join us at the North Cove Marina in Battery Park City for this wonderful day-long celebration of the Hudson River.
Even if you don’t participate in a race, you can come out and support Riverkeeper and the work we do to protect the Hudson River and New York City’s drinking water supply. In the meantime, join our Action Alert network and stay informed about important rulings and citizen events—it’s free!
